On 2–3 December 2025, Jan Witajewski-Baltvilks, CAKE and LIFE ENSPIRE expert, participated in the 11th FSR Climate Annual Conference on Economic Assessment of European Climate Policies. This conference is an annual meeting of researchers and practitioners involved in climate policy and energy economics.

The FSR Climate Annual Conference is an annual forum that brings together researchers and practitioners working on climate policy and energy economics. As part of the conference, on 3 December 2025, Jan Witajewski-Baltvilks was one of the speakers in panel 4B: Carbon pricing and market design. Within this event, Jan Witajewski-Baltvilks presented an analysis of the impact of subsidies for green hydrogen use on EU ETS allowance prices. In his talk, he showed under which conditions support for hydrogen could alter the demand for gas and electricity, thereby influencing carbon prices. Using the linked CAKE models, he presented scenarios comparing the Fit for 55 pathway with a variant that includes hydrogen subsidies. The results indicated that subsidies accelerated the development of green hydrogen production and led to a decline in EUA prices.
