Uptake Project

The UPTAKE project aims to deepen the understanding of the potential role of carbon dioxide removal – CDR in achieving European and global climate policy goals.

The 20-institutional consortium from across Europe aims to provide a coherent, comprehensive, integrated and transparent knowledge resource on CDR.

The outcome of the UPTAKE project’s 4 years of work will be a comparative assessment, going beyond current techno-economic analyses, taking into account broader environmental, life-cycle, economic, social, political and governance implications, as well as their role in the overall portfolio of actions to reduce GHG emissions.

The CAKE team, as well as each of the 20 consortium members, introduced EIA-PIB/KOBiZE, the institution it represents, and briefly talked about the team members. The kick-off meeting was primarily an opportunity to define the tasks to be carried out in the individual WPs, but also a chance to meet members of other teams during the planned side activities.
