Project name: |
SPARCCLE Socioeconomic Pathways, Adaptation and Resilience to Changing CLimate in Europe website: https://sparccle.eu/
|
Target |
Creating a new quality of climate policy assessments, both in terms of mitigation and adaptation, based on integrated modeling (IAM).
|
Target Group |
Climate research centers, public administrations of Member States and the European Commission, the industrial sector, adaptation experts, the general public.
|
Scope |
The aim of the project is to develop and implement new scientific methodologies in the areas of climate impact and integrated assessment of socio-economic risk related to climate change. The research will take into account the possibilities of synergy and the need to develop compromises between mitigation and adaptation to climate change, both at the EU and global level. The methodology will also take into account cross-sectoral linkages and spill-over effects. The project will enable the development of a series of analytical tools (primarily numerical models) that will be able to research, quantify and inform about changes that, in the long run, will allow for the creation of an economy resistant to climate change.
|
Financing |
The project is funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe framework program for research and innovation. The project budget is EUR 4.6 million.
