CAKE and FSR Climate join forces on EU ETS under the LIFE Programme
On February 19, 2021, a meeting was held between the Centre for Climate and Energy Analysis (CAKE) and the climate branch of the Florence School of Regulation (FSR Climate) and implemented from two LIFE projects, i.e. LIFE VIIEW 2050 and the LIFE DICET project.
The purpose of the meeting was to develop opportunities for cooperation and activities under two LIFE projects focused on the functioning and development of the emission trading scheme (EU ETS).
CAKE has recently implemented the LIFE VIIEW 2050 project, which the main objective is to assess the functioning of the Emissions Trading Scheme (EUETS), its impact and interaction with other EU policy instruments, other international measures and its possible further development from the work on a climate neutral EU economy by 2050.
Since 2019, FSR Climate supervises the project LIFE DICET, co-financed by the EU Life Programme, which supports the European Union and its Member States in deepening international cooperation on emissions trading. One of the project’s natural stakeholders has been the Centre for Energy and Climate Analyses (CAKE) of the National Centre for Emissions Management (KOBIZE) in Institute of Environmental Protection- National Research Institute (IOS-PIB) in Poland, which was involved in the Carbon Market Policy Dialogue and other meetings of the project LIFE DICET.
