Training workshop on energy sector modelling
Training workshop on energy sector modelling tittled “OSeMOSYS and its pan-EU application OSeMBE” was held in KOBiZE on 24-25 July, 2018. The workshop was led by Mr. Hauke Henke and Mr. Francesco Gardumi from the KTH Royal Institute of Tehnology in Stockholm. The workshop was addressed to experts in modelling from LIFE Climate CAKE PL Team.
The workshop on 24 July was opened by Mr. Robert Jeszke from the KOBiZE – LIFE Climate CAKE PL project coordinator, who presented the main assumptions, current status of works and directions of development of modelling tools within the project. During the same day of the workshop the main speaker – Mr. Hauke Henke presented the most important aspects of modeling of energy systems using the OSeMOSYS platform, on the example of the OSeMBE model covering all European Union countries.
On the second day the workshop was hosted by Mr. Francesco Gardumi, who described in detail the approach used in the OSeMOSYS model for energy storages and cross-border energy transmission. Mr. Hauke Henke also introduced his presentation focusing in addition on most important aspects of modeling the transport sector on the OSeMOSYS platform.
The workshop concluded with a productive summary debate between the participants and speakers. The main outcomes of the workshop concern further actions related to the construction of the energy and transport models. Thanks to the workshop, a team of experts in modelling working within LIFE Climate CAKE PL had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with experts specializing in modelling the energy sector.
