KOBiZE/ IOŚ-PIB joins International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP)!
We are pleased to announce that The National Centre for Emissions Management (KOBiZE) / Institute of Environmental Protection- National Research Institute (IOŚ-PIB) in Poland joins International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP)!
KOBiZE/IOŚ-PIB, representing Poland, became a member of the ICAP (International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP)) on July 16th, 2025. ICAP is an international forum for cooperation on the global development of emissions trading systems (ETSs), supporting effective climate policy and the functioning of carbon markets worldwide.
Why is it important?
- ICAP currently counts 35 full members and 9 observers, creating a global cooperation network between governments and institutions implementing ETS systems.
- Joining ICAP allows for sharing knowledge and gaining experience by participating in mainstream climate research and analysis. It also provides a forum for presenting projects, achievements, and best practices sharing.
- Joining ICAP confirms Poland’s commitment to the goals of theParisAgreement and places us among the countries, regions, and institutions shaping the development of cap-and-trade systems globally.
- ICAP membership provides international recognition and confirms KOBiZE’s position as the leading national institution dealing with the EU ETS and climate policy.
Benefits of ICAP membership:
- Strengthening the position of Poland and KOBiZE in the international climate debate;
- Exchange of knowledge and best practices with countries implementing the ETS systems;
- Support for the development of new solutions and the CO2 market;
- Participation in international work on the integration of ETS systems;
