From 10 to 12 September 2025, the fourth meeting of the AdJUST – Advancing the Understanding of Challenges, Policy Options and Measures to Achieve a Just EU Energy Transition project took place in Bilbao. For three days, partners from across Europe worked intensively on synthesizing the project’s research results to date, aiming to improve the understanding of challenges and opportunities related to a just energy transition in the European Union. Discussions focused on the impact of the transition on industry and labour markets, on support mechanisms for citizens and households, and on how public institutions can effectively deliver their tasks while ensuring credibility and effectiveness in the transition process.
The meeting was also an important planning moment. Partners identified key actions for the final year of the project, including the preparation of policy briefs, the development of a coherent final vision, building synergies across different research areas, and planning the final conference that will summarize AdJUST’s achievements and highlight its relevance for EU policymaking.
As part of the AdJUST project, the CAKE team at the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute (IOŚ-PIB) will primarily develop a modelling tool (the d-PLACE model) to assess the impact of climate policy on the economy.
