CAKE at SECW 2024 Sarajewo Energy and Climate Week

On the 23.09.2024 Maciej Cygler, our CAKE expert was a speaker at the “Panel II: Establishing the EU ETS Model in the Western Balkans Region” at the 2024 SECW – Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week.

During the meeting the panellists were asked for their opinions and recommendations on the best way to implement such climate policy measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina that would be compatible with those implemented in the EU. On the one hand, it was a great opportunity to hear from those who have already been through the process, and on the other hand, to learn about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s concerns about the scale of the challenges, obstacles and potential impacts.

Maciej Cygler also firmly emphasised the need to make use of reliable knowledge and the results of own impact assessments. It was a great occasion to underline our current projects LIFE VIIEW 2050 and our new project LIFE ENSIRE which is going to start this year.
