Memorandum of Cooperation between IOŚ-PIB/KOBIZE/ CAKE and the Poland’s Ministry of Finance  for the development and use of the MANAGE

On 27 May 2025, the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute (IOŚ-PIB) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Poland’s Ministry of Finance  for the development and use of the MANAGE general equilibrium model developed by the World Bank. The aim of the cooperation is to support energy and climate policy through the development of scientific research and analysis based on economic modelling.

The MANAGE model will be developed within the framework of the co-operation, in parallel at the Ministry of Finance and at our Centre for Climate and Energy Analyses (CAKE) , which is part of the organisational structure of the The National Centre for Emissions Management (KOBiZE) at IOŚ-PIB.

The Ministry of Finance and CAKE are collaborating to conduct analyses in support of economic development and the transition to a low-carbon economy, as well as the implementation of climate and energy policy goals. Activities under the agreement will be carried out in accordance with the respective areas of expertise of both institutions.

The concluded agreement provides a basis for strengthening the analytical potential of both institutions and for the preparation of the  high quality analysis and efficiency in support of decision-making processes in the field of energy and climate policy.
