Presentation of the objectives and assumptions of the LIFE Climate CAKE PL project at the Scientific Symposium “ProEnergo – Opportunities and Horizons of Ecoinnovation”

On June 29-30, 2018, the Scientific Symposium “ProEnergo – Opportunities and Horizon of Eco-Innovation” under the title “Ecological Innovation Day” was held for the fifth time.

The 5th ProEnergo Symposium was organized by the Electrical Department of the Częstochowa University of Technology, AGH, IF PAN Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology. The Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute was a co-organizer of this event, as well as a substantive partner. The honorary patrons of the Symposium were the Ministry of the Environment and NFOŚiGW, as well as the Ministry of Energy.

The implementation of innovative solutions in the renewable energy sector, energy efficiency, electromobility and energy storage, especially with the use of modern technologies, is an active part of the country’s climate and energy policy – said Sławomir Mazurek, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment.

The event was also attended by: Tomasz Dąbrowski – deputy minister in the Ministry of Energy, Maciej Małecki – Member of the Polish Parliament, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Treasury, Artur Michalski, vice president – National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Wojciech Dąbrowski – president of PGE Energia Ciepła and dr inż. Krystian Szczepański – director of the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute.

This year’s event “Ecological Innovation Day” has been entirely devoted to the role of new technologies in the broadly understood energy sector. The leading topics presented at the Symposium include a number of interesting issues, most of which oscillate around the eco-innovation theme, focusing on aspects related to the renewable energy sector, electromobility, energy efficiency and energy storage, as well as the directions of climate and energy policy development and eco-innovation support mechanisms projects in Poland.

During the Symposium, as part of the poster session, issues regarding projects implemented by IOŚ-PIB were presented, „Knowledge base on climate change and adaptation to their effects and channels of its dissemination in the context of increasing resilience of the economy, environment and society to climate change, and counteracting and minimize the effects of extraordinary threats” and „LIFE Climate CAKE PL”.

The symposium is an event at which representatives of the world of science, business, industry in the energy industry, environmental protection and related fields meet. Papers and discussion panels with the participation of invited speakers offer the opportunity to get acquainted with the subject of, inter alia, electrical power engineering, prosumer energy, eco-development and modern technologies. The 5th ProEnergo Symposium is implemented as part of the “DIALOG 0047/2016″ Program in the area of ”Science for Innovation” “Innovation in technology transfer procedures: Science-Industry”.
