LIFE ENSPIRE na The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF)
On 9–10 April 2026, the Management Board of IOŚ-PIB participated in The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF). The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) is an expert platform that brings together specialists, innovators, and public administration representatives to discuss solutions for energy security, sustainable development, and climate goals.
During IVECF, leaders from governments, international organizations, the private sector, financial institutions, research communities, and civil society engage in discussions on accelerating action towards a just and climate-resilient development.
In Vienna, the Polish delegation focused on building partnerships. Poland was represented by Krzysztof Bolesta, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Climate and Environment, and Katarzyna Wrona, Director of the Air and Climate Department at the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
During this year’s edition of IVECF, held under the theme “Powering Prosperity, Security and Stability”, the Management Board of IOŚ-PIB held a series of meetings with the Department of Energy and Climate Action at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The discussions focused on the involvement of IOŚ-PIB in UN projects supporting the transformation of developing economies, including through the development of ETS systems and strengthening institutional capacity.
An important topic of the discussions was also the cooperation with Ukraine and EU candidate countries, carried out by KOBiZE/IOŚ-PIB under the LIFE ENSPIRE project. These activities focus on analysing scenarios for the gradual integration of these countries into the EU ETS, exchanging expert knowledge, and strengthening institutional and analytical capacity in the field of climate and energy policy, including CBAM.
